Ioannis Caragiannis joined the department as a professor in August 2020. Before coming to Aarhus, he was a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras (since 2006). His research interests include design and analysis of algorithms (in particular, approximation and online algorithms), economics and computation (computational aspects of fair division, voting, matching problems, auctions, and congestion games), and foundations of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Ioannis Caragiannis has published more than 160 papers in conferences, journals, and as book chapters and regularly serves as program committee member in conferences at the interface of theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence, and economics. In his free time, he enjoys family time, with his wife Maria and daughters Vasilina and Angela.
