Michael E. Caspersen has been invited to join the ACM Education Council
ACM Education Council is probably best known for the work on curriculum recommendations, but K-12 (computing in school) and broadening participation are also important topics on the council's agenda.
The strategic objectives of the council are
- To provide a focus for ACM activity and leadership in the general area of computing education
- To provide leadership for the computing community in curricular development and guidance at all levels of education (specifically including K-12) with the emphasis being on higher education
- To increase the status and standing of computing education
The ACM Educaiton Council is co-chaired by Jane Prey (Microsoft Research and NSF) and Mehran Sahami (Stanford).
