Ivan Damgaard awarded the 2023 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing
Congratulations to Professor Ivan Damgaard, who has been awarded the 2023 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing for the following paper: "Multiparty Unconditionally Secure Protocols,'' David Chaum, Claude Crepeau and Ivan Damgaard -- STOC 1988.
The prize is given for outstanding papers on the principles of distributed computing, whose significance and impact on the theory and/or practice of distributed computing have been evident for at least a decade.
The award this year is given for introducing information-theoretic secure multiparty computations (MPC) and showing how to achieve maximal resilience while providing unconditional security.
The prize will be awarded at this year's DISC conference, to be held in L'Aquila, Italy, 9-13 October.
