AU students secure 3rd place at NWERC 2025

This weekend, three teams from the department competed at the Northwestern Europe Regional Contest (NWERC 2025), hosted by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology from 28-30 November. NWERC brought together 141 top university teams from across Northwestern Europe to solve challenging algorithmic programming problems within a five-hour time limit.

With an outstanding performance, the AU team &[](auto& self, i64 i)... solved 11 out of 12 problems - earning a gold medal and securing 3rd place overall. This achievement marks the best Danish placement at NWERC in more than a decade and qualifies the team for the ICPC European Championship Finals. Congratulations Daniel, Frederik and Sebastian! We will be cheering for you in the next stage of the competition.

Mallocalypse - 68th place overall and 3rd among the Danish teams
Bail Out Fast - 115th place overall and 8th in Denmark
