350 guests for top European algorithms conference at CS

Massive Data, Cloud Computing, Transportation Modelling, Approximation, Online Algorithms… there’s hardly any theme relating to Algorithms and Data Structures, that will not be covered at ALGO 2016, making it the number one go-to algorithms conference in Europe this year.

From August 22-26, more than 350 researchers, students and practitioners in algorithms will gather at the Lakeside Lecture Theatres at Aarhus University for ALGO 2016. ALGO is an annual event combining the premier algorithmic conference European Symposium on Algorithms (ESA) and a number of other specialized conferences and workshops, all related to algorithms and their applications.

I'm very happy that we are hosting ALGO 2016. Not only is it the top European algorithms event, but when we in 2014 bid to host the event, we won over competing bids from Paris and Berlin. I think, this testifies to the reputation of our basic research center MADALGO funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. MADALGO has been running for almost ten years and it is the last year of funding from the Foundation. Thus, ALGO 2016 is also a good way of celebrating our 10 year birthday, says Lars Arge, center director for MADALGO.

ALGO 2016 is sponsored by Center for Massive Data Algorithmics (MADALGO) a basic research center at Department of Computer Science. Find more information about ALGO 2016.
