Head of Department Kaj Grønbæk welcomed the participating graduates and family members. Mathias Schwarz, CS Alumni and Senior Staff Software Engineer at Databricks, gave the graduation speech.

Mathias shared his journey as a computer scientist and remarked how his degree from Aarhus University has opened many doors for him throughout the years. No matter what field the graduates are venturing into, they’ll always have a strong network behind them. He remarked on the rise of AI and how it increases the need for IT professionals but also requires them to be even more specialized than before. 

This years Computer Science graduates are the first who’ve had the opportunity to obtain a specialization on their master’s degrees, in either Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction or Software Foundations and Technology. These specializations reflect fast-growing fields in Computer Science and give our students the opportunity to finetune their skills according to career ambitions and interests. 

Many of our graduates have already been hired to apply their skills by private companies, public institutions, and startups in Denmark and beyond.
