Danish computer science departments form a strong alliance

All Danish computer science departments and the Alexandra Institute form a unique alliance, which is supported by DKK 100 million by Innovation Fund Denmark. Head of Department Kaj Grønbæk is part of the board.

Digital Research Center Denmark (DIREC) is a unique collaboration across seven universities in Denmark, and the consortium behind DIREC consists of the computer science departments at the Technical University of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School, The IT University, the University of Southern Denmark, Aarhus University and Aalborg University, all of which have research groups that can compete with the best internationally.

Over the next five years, DIREC will expand its capacity within research and education in digital technologies at Danish universities. This should help satisfy the great need for highly trained IT specialists in companies and the public sector.

The center must also, through collaboration with companies and the public sector, contribute to Denmark's competitiveness by ensuring the development of new products and solutions based on the latest digital technologies.
