Minutes from the Joint Cooperation Meeting on November 19, 2024

1 Information from the Head of Department
Kaj informed about the outcome of the recent visit by the international expert panel and their evaluation report of the department. Overall, the report was very positive. However, there were few points that the panel recommended the department to focus on in the future. One example was raising staff awareness about sustainability – particularly regarding travel to conferences.
Olav mentioned the Sustainability working group is working on promoting visibility of sustainable initiatives to inspire everyone.
The Research Committee has planned an extended meeting to review the findings of the report and discuss potential actions.
2 the new building
There is still no final timeline for the new building, but Kaj told that it is expected to be ready by Spring 2029.
3 The Master’s Degree Reform
Kaj briefly informed the committee about the reform, but it remains unclear what impact it will have on the department’s study programs.
4 AOB
The committee decided to hold another CS sports day in 2025. This time, the sports day committee will attempt to schedule the event on a day that does not conflict with the CS retreat.
