Agenda:
Messages from the chair
Financially we are doing well, with a small surplus in the budget. This is fine considering saving for the construction plans we are facing.
Due to the master’s reform, the process of creating new 75 ECTS master’s degree programs is currently underway at the department.
We are offering new international BSc educations in 2025, and there appears to be great interest so far.
Salary negotiations
The annual salary negotiations are beginning. This year, the department’s salary negotiation budget is set to a max. of 0.8% (compared to last year’s 0.5%). In connection, there have been changes from last year in terms of union representatives in the department, as Olav W. Bertelsen is the union representative for the majority of Faculty members, and Marianne Dammand Iversen for the majority of the TAP personnel.
Buildings
We are getting a new building, about half as tall as Incuba Next, providing us with approx. 20% more space. Right now logistics are being figured out in terms of placement of special rooms, specifying design and content of these rooms, interior layout and wishes in general, etc.
Internal moving will begin this year. The temporary rehousing will come later.
It is being discussed what is going to happen to the existing buildings of the department and how they fit into the future plans logistically.
Equality
There will be a review of all the initiatives of 2024 (at faculty level). Additionally, our department has its own local Equality Committee, which has been inactive for a while. The committee will be resuming soon with a meeting focused on initiatives specific to our department, complementing the broader efforts from the faculty-level committee.
AOB
Workplace Assessment (WPA) survey is to take place soon. The report comes out in April whereafter action plans are to be made. LSU and LAMU will have a joint meeting in the near future.
Sports Day is being planned, and the date is soon set.
