When should the thesis contract be signed (start date)?

• Until summer 2015: When the subject of the thesis is agreed between advisor and student(s).
• From summer 2015: ”fremdriftreformen” entails very strict rules on the latest date the thesis contract must be signed. Student and advisor-to-be preferably agree on the thesis subject well ahead of the deadline.
