									<p><strong>Title</strong></p>
<p>The Flix Programming Language</p>
<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p>
<p>In this talk, I will present an overview of the Flix programming language, a</p>
<p>functional, imperative, and logic programming language developed at Aarhus</p>
<p>University and by a community of open-source contributors.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I will begin with a brief introduction to type and effect systems and then</p>
<p>present three Flix-specific features: purity reflection, polymorphic effect</p>
<p>exclusion, and associated effects.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I will conclude the talk with some reflections on principled programming</p>
<p>language design.&nbsp;</p>
