This year, China Theory Week returned to Tsinghua University where it was initially invented. Associate Professor Kasper Green Larsen was one of the invited speakers, and presented the groundbreaking paper that earned the prestigious best paper award earlier this year at the annual Crypto 2018 Conference in Santa Barbara. The paper is co-authored by Aarhus computer science Professor Jesper Buus Nielsen.

China Theory Week is an annual workshop founded in 2007 by Professor Andrew Chi-Chih Yao of IIIS at Tsinghua University. It is a workshop for the rising stars of computer science theory with the most accomplished PhD students from institutions worldwide meeting, presenting and discussing their research.

CTW was held at Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, where the Sino-Danish center Center for the Theory of Interactive Computation (CTIC) was active.
