Peder Chr. Nørgaard got his Master’s Degree in Computer Science, from Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University in 1980. During his studies he was part time employed as student systems programmer on the Department’s DEC 10 mainframe computer. Later he became a full-time employee as Operations Manager at the Department from 1984-1992. In this period, he was responsible for managing the transition of the department’s infrastructure from a single mainframe computer with terminals to a modern workstation on internet infrastructure. This was a very important transition for the Department. For many years we were running teaching and research on the Sun Microsystem workstation infrastructure, which was established under Peder Chr. Nørgaard’s leadership. Peder Chr. Nørgaard was very efficient and professional at work, but he was also a very social person with a special sense of humor. We wish to express a last thank you from the department for Peder Chr’s contributions. Our warmest thoughts are with his family.
