This week, 150 researchers, students and experts within the field of MPC Technology visit the Department for the annual ‘Theory and Practice of Multiparty Computation 2018’ conference, where leading researchers will present their latest results in secure computation.

Meet our new data visualization expert

On May 1, Hans-Jörg Schulz started as Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science. He joins the Ubiquitous Computing and Interaction group, but expects to have close co-operation with both Computer Mediated Activity and Data-Intensive Systems. With his expertise, he hopes to contribute to the research activities in these groups.

Large grant for Ass. Professor Bas Spitters

Associate professor Bas Spitters has received a grant of DKK 3.4 million from Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The grant includes funding for a PhD student and a Postdoc to work on how to apply homotopy type theory to probabilistic programming and to develop theory and tools for computer aided proofs in security.…

In keeping with tradition, the winners of the CS Awards are always announced at Computer Science Day. This year was no exception as the awards for "Teacher of the Year", "Teaching Assistant of the Year" and "CS student Awards" all were announced Friday afternoon. Nominees for teacher of the year!

Five teachers are nominated for Teacher of the Year. In a vote the students will name the winner, who will be announced at Computer Science Day on May 18. The nominees are; Anders Møller, Eve Hoggan, Henrik Bærbak Christensen, Kasper Green Larsen and Kurt Jensen. Congratulations!

New Associate Professor at the department

On May 1, Kasper Green Larsen from the Algorithms and Data Structures group has been appointed Associate Professor. The inaugural lecture will be planned in the beginning of 2019, as Kasper soon leaves for a six month reserach stay at UC Berkeley. Congratulations!
